Merrow & Fane

The practice

Mostly, we make lists.

The romance is yours. The logistics are ours, and there are more of them than anyone expects.

The letter
You write, we reply within a week. If the date is taken we say so immediately rather than holding you while we decide.
The meeting
Two hours, no charge, no presentation deck. We want to know how you met, who is difficult, and what your mother expects. All three change the plan.
The brief
A written document: the day in hours, the visual scheme, the budget by line, and the things we think you should not spend money on. It is edited until you recognise your own wedding in it.
The build
Six to eighteen months. Contracts, walkthroughs, tastings, fittings, floor plans, power, parking, wet-weather plans, and the production schedule that runs to forty pages nobody but us will read.
The day
The principal is on site from the first delivery to the last car. Not an associate, not a coordinator hired in for the weekend.
The morning after
Hire collected, suppliers settled, gifts and paperwork delivered to wherever you are. You should wake up with nothing to do.

Terms

What we will not do.

We do not take a percentage of your budget. A planner paid on a percentage has an interest in your spending more, and no amount of goodwill survives that arrangement. We charge a fixed fee agreed before the brief is written.

We do not take commission from suppliers. Every quote you see is the quote we were given. We will not recommend a florist who pays us, and we will tell you when a supplier you found yourself is better than ours.

We do not promise weather, and we do not promise that nothing will go wrong. We promise that when it does, you will not be the one who finds out.

Eight is not a marketing device.

It is the number of weddings one person can run properly in a year while still being present at each. When the eight are taken, the year is closed.
